Jordon, the lead singer of Frankly Speaking, asked me to build a website for his band. Armed with my knowledge and passion for music, I worked closely with designer Shawn Borsky to flesh out a solid, eye-catching site. Jordon wanted ease of management for events and photos, so all media and events are pulled directly from Facebook, which he already uses.

In addition to eye-popping graphics and dynamic event management, Jordon also wanted a music player to showcase his latest songs, such as "Goodbye California" (my favorite). To that end, I installed a jQuery and Flash-based music player in the upper right, customized to look as much like the rest of his site as possible. There's nothing worse than a music player that looks way out of place.

Wheel of Time Database

Born out of a passion for the epic fantasy series "The Wheel of Time" by the late Robert Jordan, I built a comprehensive database that spans over 1500 characters, 200 places, 800 interview questions and dozens of points of view. In order to rein in such a vast amount of information, I built a custom search engine that returns highly relevant results.

This massive undertaking of data entry was eased by the use of a custom CMS and my thorough knowledge of the series. Users can find everything there is to know about any character -- from whether they're dead or alive to their hometowns. With a carefully managed mySQL database and PHP back-end, the database is incredibly useful for any fan of the epic series.

As a theatre practiioner, I'm constantly on the lookout for ways to utilize my skills to improve the industry. One of the problems facing smaller theatre companies is gathering feedback from their audience. I built Talkbackr in response to this problem within 24 hours of identifying it. The goal is to be as simple as possible while delivering maximum effect.

Within 5 minutes, a theatre organization can set up an event and get their feedback URL out to their audience. In addition, the audience member can fill out the feedback form built with specific questions designed to give constructive feedback. With over 1000 events registered, it's an incredibly successful service that I'm very proud of.

Cosmic Deli

Cosmic Deli is my favorite place to eat in Georgia. Shortly after discovering their delicious sandwich known as "The Black Hole" (see image), I became hooked. Later I was honored with the task of building their new website. I included a jQuery rotator to show off those delectable sandwiches, added a custom menu and a custom CMS back-end so that they can update the menu on their own.

In addition to the regular website, I built a custom ordering system utilizing MyFax to send orders directly to Cosmic Deli's fax machine. A user can visit the website, choose their items to order, and then place the order within minutes. Of course, with such a great system and back-end already built, I just had to build an iPhone app to go along with it. As soon as Apple approves the app, you will be able to order your very own Black Hole from Cosmic Deli from anywhere with a phone signal!
